Graduate of the Hocking College E-Business & Website Design Program
Ellen Ball, also known as "The Web Goddess" of Athens Ohio Website Design, E-Business & Internet Consulting, began her journey in E-Business years ago when her personal hobby of exhibiting show dogs created the need for having web presence. Her E-Business experience started when she discovered she had an ability to design show dog ads for herself and friends using various graphic software programs. When her creative designs were published on Shelties Online and Collies Online (Online show dog magazines for those breeds), others took notice and began consulting Ellen to have her do their designs.
Being considered the "computer person" of her family, Ellen had always been encouraged to earn a degree "in computers". "In computers" is a vague statement. It was her hobby and love of her dogs that lead her to seek help on website design. Ellen set out on her own attempting to learn from any resource she could find. The problem was, finding resources who were willing to help. She spent about two years searching for the help she needed.
It was during the Summer of 2008 when she placed what turned out to be one of the most important phone calls she ever made. That phone call connected Ellen to the Hocking College E-Business & Web Design Program. Originally the plan was to go to Hocking College for Webmaster Classes I, II, and III only. After all, the initial plan was simply to learn how to build and upload websites. It was only after Ellen completed those first three classes she realized there was so much more than website design to have an effective presence on the Internet.
The principles of E-Business consumed her and she found a fascinating field that would enable her build effective search engine optimized websites based on sound e-Marketing research and statistics, and not only help her own personal website, but be able to provide personal, affordable website and Internet solutions for those of Southeastern Ohio; business owners, non-profit organizations, individuals wishing to brand themselves for today's market, or extended families who wish to stay closely connected, or hobbyists who have a passion for what they do.
One year later, after completing her E-Business and Web Design classes at Hocking College, Ellen was invited to join a local e-business project which developed the Southeastern Ohio Business to Business Network. The involvement provided her with unique opportunities to learn from various resources while she helped small business owners in Southeastern Ohio.
Currently, Ellen is the Volunteer Educational Coordinator for the Southeastern Ohio Business to Business Network www.seob2b.org. Her future plans are to transfer to Franklin University to continue her education in E-Marketing and Website Development. As she continues to dedicate time to acquiring education, she will be providing personal, affordable and professional e-Business and Internet consulting services.
